I hope everyone is staying safe.  I wanted to send a reminder that this weeks school work is due tomorrow at 3pm; this has been all enrichment and review of prior skills.  Beginning tomorrow we will begin new content and it will be graded based on the criteria that Dr. Ackell sent out earlier this week: 

Highly Engaged: means a student is actively participating by attending sessions, completing work/tasks, and is proactively communicating with the teacher and classmates. 

Engaged: means a student is meeting minimum expectations and/or is partially engaged, attends some learning sessions, and completes some work/tasks. 

Not Yet Engaged: means a student is not engaged in the learning process, does not attend learning sessions, and does not complete tasks/work.

Hope all is well... just a few things...


1. New assignments have been posted! These have a due date and we are now asking if you can either submit their work right on google or take a picture and email it to me.  

2. Starting next week, we will be presenting one new skill per week. We will continue that through May and school will end as scheduled. There will be assignments on the new material, as well as, some review.

3. Office hours are through Google Meet on Tuesday and Thursday 1-3 pm. We are using this time for questions or showing us your completed work...or just for your kids to say hi to us and each other!!😊😊

*Thanks to  the students from Bloomsburg University for sharing a Dr. Seuss story and activity. To celebrate “Read Across America”.

*Monday, 3/2  Brainshow Mania Program  sponsored by NSE PTO

*Our class will be focusing on one story, “Oh The  Places You Can Go, throughout the month.  Students will be assigned  a day to present  about a place he/she has travelled to by showing pictures, souvenirs, a  poster, etc….
Please discuss at home things that would be interesting to show/share.

*Sunday, 3/8  Daylight Savings Time begins.  Students are permitted to wear shorts, but please check weather if reasonable to do so.

*Continuing to accept monetary donations for our class basket please.

*Thursday 3/19 Spring begins

*If  temperatures are above 40’ we will go outside for recess.  Please dress your child accordingly.

Welcome Back!
NO SCHOOL ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 1st, 2019


  

Thank you for all the warm wishes and holiday gifts!  I hope your 2018 year will be filled with good health and happiness.

  

We will be practicing with long vowel sounds throughout the month.  Please continue to check your child's daily folder for new word list and spelling lists.

In math, students will be comparing number values and using vocabulary as less than/greater than.
